Merry Christmas!
The message of Christmas is a message of hope, peace, joy, and love. All of these gifts arrived in the person of a baby born in a stable: Jesus the Christ. He is our hope, our peace, and our joy. Jesus is love!
All the sights, sounds, lights, and feelings of Christmas point to that singular moment when the Son of God was born. Incarnation! God became human. It is the miracle of Almighty God poured out into human flesh so that we might have a restored union with Him.
Pray with me:
Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, may Your Name be praised!
As we celebrate the coming of Christ, we receive hope. Hope renewed and restored. Hope that You are making all things new, restoring our hearts, our minds, and our relationships.
We receive Your peace. Peace that surpasses all understanding. Peace that keeps us safe and warm, even in the storms of life.
We receive Your joy. The joy of knowing we are safe in Your hands. The joy of being with You, just as You are with us.
We receive Your love. Love defined by grace and mercy. Love spelled out on the cross.
Jesus, You are hope, peace, joy, and love. We enter into union with You again as we celebrate Your birth.
Come, Lord Jesus! Fill us and restore us, we pray. In the Name of the Prince of Peace, our Messiah, Jesus the Christ, Amen!
