O Worship the King!
Jesus told the women at the well, those who worship God must worship Him in spirit and truth. Humans were made to worship. We were created with an innate need to find our creator and enter into relationship with Him. Unfortunately, most of humanity worships the created instead of the Creator. We were created for relationship, with God and others.
Worship takes many forms and truly, there is no right way to worship (style, that is). Worship is what happens when we understand who we are in relationship to our Creator-Lord. We humble ourselves and bow before Him, surrendering and submitting ourselves. We offer up praise and adoration as we revere who He is! In Him we understand who we are… created, valued, rescued, redeemed, restored, loved. When we understand all He has done for us, we cannot help but lift our voices in praise and exultation, glorifying His Name!
As we bid the last year goodbye, and welcome 2025. Let us move into a time of intentional prayer and fasting. We are taking our eyes off ourselves, our circumstances, and our world. We are humbling ourselves, confessing our sins, seeking His Face. We are giving up the things that keep us from intimate relationship with God and others. We are agreeing with the Sovereign-Almighty King of the universe, asking His will to be done and His Kingdom to come in our world, our church, our heart, and our mind.
