A message from the series "COVID-19." Have you ever wondered why Jesus describes His followers as sheep? Why didn´t he choose something more dignified, like eagles, lions, beautiful peacocks or even dolphins? While to some this may seem like a pointless question, if we take the time to understand sheep it becomes very clear why He chose to describe us as sheep and Himself as the Good Shepherd.

CloseAfter the resurrection Jesus appeared to his disciples for forty days before his ascension. In Luke 24:44-49 we can observe how the disciples were promised three important gifts: 1. an understanding of Scriptures - which gave them clarity regarding the gospel (vv. 44-45); 2. a purpose to proclaim - which gave them a vision of how the gospel will spread to the ends of the earth (vv. 46-48); 3. the power to be witnesses - which assured them that they would not be on their own (v. 49) - and power to obey the commission Jesus gave that still applies for us today.
