Viewing Our Suffering Through the Lens of Eternity
Scripture References: Revelation 2:8-11
A message from the series "Sunday Service." In our lesson today I want to bring some encouragement from the story of the
Apostle Paul to his friends at Ephesus. As Brother Keith “Called Out the Called” two
weeks ago (using the calling of Moses as his text), I want to piggy-back on that to
emphasize that we are ALL called (and GIFTED) to do something! We are all
ministers together in some capacity. Each one of us has some gift that Christ has
given us for the benefit of each other! Together! Paul emphasizes that together the
believers all became one in Christ, and as the body of Christ they were living in the
story of God.

CloseThe book of Revelation is calling us to look through an eternal lens. It is written for those who have their eyes fixed on heaven and not on this world. It is written from the perspective of heaven. If we approach these verses from a worldly perspective, seeking success, pleasure, comfort and material gain, the verses will never make sense. They will be blurry and unclear and even offensive. If we are wearing the lens of the world the reality of God cannot be seen.
