In vv. 1-3, we see the basis and extent of his confidence in the Lord. In vv. 4-6, he gives expression to his longing for God’s presence; 13 times through the psalm he addresses Him using the sacred name of Yahweh, which he clearly treasures. In vv. 7-12, he gives us insights into his vigorous and honest prayer life, opening his heart in both confession and petition. Then in vv. 13-14, he reaffirms his confident hope and his patience to wait on the Lord. Isn’t this psalm relevant to your life?

In Joshua 7 we find the next story of Israel´s conquest of the Promised Land. Because of God´s help, they had miraculously crossed over the Jordan River at flood stage and entered the Promised Land. With God´s help they had defeated and destroyed the great walled city of Jericho. They now turned their attention to the small city of Ai.
